Instead of expecting politicians to change,and making attempts to change the system, let us know we can enforce this two party system by
-rejecting parties with religious/regional agenda
-not voting for criminals/people with no Character
-making youth enter politics
-like minded people come together and educate people street by street
This needs some doing, but can be done.
If we want to clean the sewer we have to get into it.

Will Pak.Act after warning by US?
Pakistan will act.6:34 AM 12/7/2008
Going by the track record,Pakistan will not act.However,the circumstances are different now.
Even the Pak. army knows,they are facing worst crisis in their wetern borders.They will have no country to govern,if US acts militarily,under international coalition,as was done in Iraq.
Political leadership also knows that this time,it can not dilly dally.
Economic conditions in Pakistan would become chaotic if US economic aid is not forthcoming.
The strident Anti-India reaction from the masses,usually associated with the public of Pak. is missing,as the present generation in Pakknows the futility of foolish bravado against India,which is unwarranted(that exists in the minds of politicians and generals),will not ensure a stable and prosperous Pakistan.
Even their so called ally China is less enthusiastic than before in supporting Pak.
Logically,Pakistan,this time will act;but it shall be a token action like arresting LeT Chief and keeping him under house arrest like their father of Atomic bomb,and make noises about building CBMs with India- I beat ,you-cry act.

No CM for Maharashtra
It is not surprising that the Congress could not find a candidate for CM's post for Maharashtra.The party may not be aware that given the security scenario, the state needs a strong CM,like SK.Patil,Y.B.Chavan.But present congressmen are pygmies,who like to ride on dynasty's name.They have to consider poll Alliances,castes.NCP.ShivSena,probably a wild card move like appointing a Muslim candidate to gain cheap electoral point.Prevarication ,Thy name is Congress.After all,we have seen the drama that took place before the nomination of Dr.ManMohan Singh as PM.

Need Fulltime FM.
Dr.ManmohanSingh, is no doubt, the Father of Indian New Economy.However, he can not do justice to both being the PM and FM.Finace Ministry needs strong presence and day to day monitoring,analysis and swift action, especially in meltdown situation in Global Economy.
Does the Congress mean to convey that they have nobody other than Manmohan Singh and Chidambaram to manage sensitive portfoloios?It is shameful to have elected such a party who do not seem to have the right candidates to run the country.

Media Coverge-Bombay Blasts-26/11/08
By and large, the live coverage by the media was exceptional in that the media personnel, in general,were very professional,innovative,caring,sensitive and passionate.However some areas need careful thought.
1.Some channels,were outright speculative.In their anxiety to provide passionate coverage,few media personnel on the field resorted to crass statement's on the system and the powers that be;though they are justified, it was neither the time nor the place to do so.Few of them used a language that tended to ignite passions.In fact ,a reporter complained that the officials are not allowing to do their duty to cover the incident,forgetting that it was sensitive operation and the reporters lives were also at risk.
2.A channel,through their anchor has tried and judged the yet unknown perpetrators guilty,thus providing fodder to Pakistan that India had already made up their mind about Pakistan"s involvement.In the same channel,a Rtd.Pakistan Army general was being goaded into making some remarks that were not in the interests of our country.Thank God!He saw the ploy and became non-committal thereafter.
3.There was also an insensitive question to Mr.Ratan Tata as to "what compensation were Tatas contemplating for their employees who fought valiantly'.He was also asked as to the extent of damage to the property and the number of guests in the hotel at the time of the attack.Is it not grossly insensitive?The details of guests could have been obtained sans camera,surely.MR.Tata was dignified in his response.
As for as the code for covering the event, it is better that media formulate its own code and implement and it need not be entrusted to Politicians and bureaucrats.

Anti-Terrorism-Action Plan
Subsequent to Bombay Terrorist attack,it is time that academic discussion stopped and concrete action is taken.
To begin with we may initiate the following.
1.If we have exact intel on terror camps inside Pakistan strike them a la Entebbe.
Stop pussyfooting with diplomacy and US and international opinion.
2.Seal the border with Pakistan and Bangladesh.
3.Freeze all CBMS on hold.Stop all trade with Pakistan.
4.Create centralised command structure for terror operations.No other agency is to attempt this operation.
5.Let professional bureaucrats and defence people act,not waiting for clearance from political leadership.If interference from them is noticed, come public through media.
6.Let media cover only the essential of terror attack as a sideline.Do not provide publicity to Terrorists.
7.Stop divulging the background of suspected terrorists,including their religious background.
8.Issue national ID.
9.Use Postmen to verify addresses.
10.The security checks are perfunctory.Supervise.
11. Let one member of the public take over one street/apartment block.Keep the centralised Command /police on any thing extraordinary.
12.Do away with agents for passports.Handle directly.
13.Banks to map pattern of spending and intimate deviation.
14.SIM cards,especially for Prepaid. on production of ID with comments from police.
15.Internet booking for travel to be verified by banks before issue of tickets.
16.Arrest mercilessly politicians who sow the seeds of separatism and religious bigotry.
Above all let each of us be on the look out.If we find anything suspicious,do not wait for official action.Take people and tackle.
Mere solidarity meetings and talking shop will yield nothing.
